INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts have parted ways with General Manager Chris Ballard after ten seasons.
Owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon made the announcement in a statement Monday, saying “the sense of urgency has never been higher.”
“Our standard is to compete for championships,” Irsay-Gordon said. “I believe a change in leadership is necessary to meet that standard.”
In ten seasons, Ballard had a 72-82-1 record, along with a 1-2 record in the playoffs.
Ballard was announced as the Colts general manager in 2016. In 2021, Ballard signed a five-year extension with the team.
The Colts are currently 2-4 this season after Sunday’s 26-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
Irsay-Gordon said the team will conduct a thorough search for Ballard’s replacement.
